Bubbi has her new seat in.. well *new* as in not the current seat, but one that was pulled from a junk yard. It's a pretty solid seat actually. It was off a wrecked 'sport-ier' version of Bubbie.

The old seat now rests at the dump. Yeppie.

To my Biggestfan - the review is coming.. it's a bit long.

A while back one of our districts was in a bind. The found that copying to new over and over again did not remove the references in the details to the original detail list. In effect - they fill out one screen (with one to many lines of detail), copy to new, delete the copied lines, and add new ones actually over wrote the original detail lines too.

Whoops. Long standing bug no one else has ever noticed (it came up due to the specific type of items that site was using).

Support didn't really help so they back channeled me. Nifty. A quick meeting with the new current lead developer and we found the issue and a work around for the mean time. Sweet. That project and continue working and making $$.

A few days after that the individual who found the issue wanted to send a 'thank you' email to my boss and the lead's boss. Cool. A few names and off they go. A super nice email comes back with me and the lead CC'd on it.

Now my buddy's boss writes back a very nice reply to it... and there is no word from my boss. Hmm. The bug-finder emailed me today and asked if my boss hated me. I was unsure the context until she showed me the passive receipt on the 'thank you' email she sent out - it showed Jefe having "deleted email without reading it".

Ouch. That stings Jefe.

2009.05.24 (03:49): What a night..

My day was fairly uneventful. I cleaned, I ate some hot wings, and I wrote two proof of concepts games for my Zune.

After some text messages from my youngest sister imploring me to meet her at a bar (the Firewater where her fiance djs) I left my fortress of solitude and headed out into the night.

Fifteen minutes later I was there, hung out, had some drinks, saw the crowd she rolls with, and then headed out to the 'Box.

A few games of Monster Madness and Photo Hunt last call came too soon.

I rolled from there to the iconic basement of my buddy. He had his sister, her friend, a high school friend, and his dad there. About four Michelob Genuine Drafts later I was out and headed to the gas station.

I sit here munching on my Jacks Links beef stick and writing this. I adored the shots at my buddy's dad's basement.. I adored the fact my buddy's sister's friend was hammered and needed attention. I adored the 90's channel on cox, but alas I am home and should be in bed.

What at night.

Yeah.. loved the movie because it had better than expected action scenes.. the damn thing blew for writing... blew for Skynet.. and blew for any particular character development.

I was in an easily amused mood last night so I had to sit back, laugh, and enjoy the ride. There is no way this is event in the same league as T1 or T2... but clearly it's the obvious end point of the path T3 gave us away from the series.

Sad.

I heart my zune so much! My gigabeat, while stellar, has only one upside against my zune - it would let me play things in a folder- tree structure. The zune insists on things in albums, artits, or song titles. This isn't a big paradigm shift except now I pay for the sins of my laziness.

There was a time that I did not fill out the ID3 tags when ripping a cd. The songs were numbered and labeled their title and dumped into a folder for the cd, and that folder was in a folder for the band. I always skipped filling out the ID3 tags and now I am tasked with going through all my music and adding them where I can.

I am going to try a few alternative ways of adding the ID3 tags quickly, and if that fails I am going to just make a .NEt program up to get them in an editable grid so I can copy/paste album info and auto number them.

Regardless I heart my zune so much. I even gave it a good name. It's a secret.

A few things..

First falloutboy got a hold of me last night - it seems Tuesday we are going to need to have a meeting to discuss all that he knows from the last week. Mischief abounds.

Second, I ripped off my seat and surveyed the damage. On a whim I decided to try some of the 'cold weld' epoxy crap.. yeah.. after letting it cure most of the day, tapping it a few times to see if it was solid, I sat in and it popped the piece back out. Also when looking at it it appears the previous owner may have been in a accident - the metal was pretty fractured. The new plan is call up the Nissan for a new seat or get the stinky junk yard seat. I would prefer not rolling junkyard seat.

Third.. my game is progressing nicely. I reworked the save and will have to rework the initial concept for the map... the first 'proof of concept' one screen array was a good start but to have connected screens it's not efficient.

Fourth - my presentation rocked the Kas-bah. My new 500 gig hard drive is sleek and wonderful.

Fifth - I am moderately dreading the morning - everyone's back. bleh.

I had my two hour presentation on 'Reporting Service Basics' today. It went by fine with the exception I last minute ditched my sixty power point slides and went for live demo. I was only at a loss for words about twice when I had to catch up with what was going on.

Not bad.. my 'feedback' has been positive. Mostly 5's.. there was one 4... and the general comment was I was hyper informative but talked "a bit fast". Well fuckers - to cram everything reporting service into two hours takes a lot of fucking talking.

On the plus side I did shit for work-work all day.. got free pizza.. and a 500gb external hard drive for doing the talk. W00t!

2009.05.12 (09:47): Day 2...

Category: Work

It's now day 2 of me being left as acting captain.

Bloopers graced us with his presence four minutes into the standup meeting...
meeting? opted to not show up for the meeting even when I tried to extend it.. Alas he was here at 9.13 or so

Yesterday both were not here until 9.15 or 9.20... thus missing the meeting completely.

Strange calls from Falloutboy at midnight (CST). Vendor parties sound great!

Cryptic emails from Jefe shoving work off on me... let's see how this goes.

On a side note - it seems my BiggestFan has left and is now fully consumed by WoW. Sad... just sad.

After being laid low by a stomach flu and/or under cooked chicken (avian flu? lol) I was downing some pepto last night. I remembered two friends saying if you take too much you have a chance of turning your tongue black..

I thought six tablespoons over the course of the evening last night might do the trick, and I was right! While my tongue isn't black as a piece of coal it looks bruised and grayish. I might down the rest of the bottle tonight and finish the transformation!

I found out that my dad's office is closing down the branch in town.

Bummer.

Out of a job.
