Once again my work environment is in upheaval. The long standing rumor of moving to the 7th floor is now a reality come next Tuesday. After years of being funneled into smaller and smaller confines they are busting everyone back to cubes. *sigh* I still remember part of the selling point of working here (well back when I was being interviewed) was everyone got their own office. That happened for maybe four or five months but that's about it.

Here's the fun setup - the 7th floor is going to house about 80ish people. This complicates life since we cannot use the internal stairs to get to the bottom floor (stupid insurance company on 5 and 6). That means each day eighty people will be traveling up the craptastic elevators and at night back down. There is going to be a freaking line. Additionally the bathroom facilities are meager. This was usually solved by quick up or down access through a stair well. Well not so much anymore.

On a more amusing side bloopers is positioned next to dk. Maybe now DK will see the six hour work days bloopers is used to.

In general the emails keep coming (about the move) that "folks are excited" and what not. You know trying to create a false sense of positive backing when none exists. I laugh. Good try guys.

DK seems really pissed though. He was going off about us being implied second class citizens and now, with the bungle of a move, we were able to get a nice slap in the face and put into our spot. I wonder if he will try and quit.

Oh we just got an etiquette guide! Let's see. Only office regulation calenders. Check.
Max two personal framed photos. Check.
Max three certificates or awards being displayed. Check.

Hahaha..

On a random side note my buddy was telling me last night she got her first windows based laptop a week or so ago. (She's only used iCraps). She tore open the package, turned it on, filled out some data, and as it was loading had a panic attack and turned it off. She avoided touching it for about five days, but needed to write a paper. She turns it on (after having a friend set up the wifi) was doing somethings and it blue screened. She repeated the blue screen and was forced to take it back (bad hardware). What a comical story - I had a good laugh.
