As some of you may know, Hawaii was back in town last night. It was arranged by the eldest sister, Laura aka Ankh, and attended by a few folk. I knew most of them by sight, but the names were hazy.

The note worthy list was: Ankh, the rare and reclusive Steve (brother) aka Steve the Hedge, Audry aka Dance, Ankh's hubby, and *drum roll* Margie aka Island.

Follow the recap after the jump.

I ended up leaving work later than usual, so I grabbed a pie on the way home. Thankfully the hellishly cold wind did not cool the pizza too much. My work clothes were tossed into the floor-drobe, and I settled down to watch some NCIS.

woot!

Go gett'em Gibs!

A few text messages were exchanged between Island and I, and a general outline for what time this whole thing was supposed to go down was figured out. Shortly after Gibs busted this ATF broad for selling weapons I was back at my command center flipping through my social network's status. Ah.. yeah.. Nothing there.

Bored with that I opened up KPS the RPG and made a nice happy tree tile.

I was a bit worn out from the libations of the previous night (and concerns about anything I might have stirred up then) to weigh the chances of getting a nap in. Knowing my penchant for ignoring all sorts of cacophony (especially from my clock) I nested down to read a few more chapters in my book: The Lie. Bruce was already raving he got done with it Sunday. I could only express my congratulation on him finishing something other than a magazine article.

The book's pretty damn good. It follows the same vein as 'Average American Male', but with a more indepth story from three different peoples point of view. Good shit. So good I was chucking through chapters and had to physically restrain myself from "reading just one more".

A quick shower and I was out on the streets. At the Fox and Hound I was greeted by a round of hugs and what not. Hawaii and I worked over the needed small talk, and things dissolved into a rolling party of pictures, people, singing (karokee), and mirth.

There was a mild concern Island and Hawaii were going to start feuding over missing winter clothes, but that passed. Hawaii was in good form with her "Silver Springs", Bon Jovi, and a so forth. Island fired back a few country tunes, Dance threw a new one out with Metallica's "Fuel for Fire", and Ankh did her usual set of Alanis Morissette (later joined by Dance for some Queen "Bohemian Rhapsody").

Shots made the rounds, and things found a decent routine of fast flowing conversations and constant tangents. Ah.. nothing really has changed.

Eventually it was beddie-by-time so exit photos were needed, and promises of constant evening plan updates for the extent of Hawaii's time back on the mainland.

Cool.

It's always a good time when old friends show up now and then.
