No, this isn't about the economy (though it should be), but another example of the moderate-fail of Jefe.

Okay.. here's the scoop so far. We have this outsourcing company from India. Yeah, love that one, right? They are the ones responsible for the general malaise and downturn of my old platform I supported. For some time now I have been doing some of the quick action work such as updating our item catalog with the current pricing. The reason *I* was doing this instead of them was: 1. I know how the data needs to be generally fixed and correct, 2. I don't have a three month turn around for work, and 3. I have a high ability to scan large CSV files to see what's wrong when it won't import.

The fun begins is Jefe has declare I can no longer work on any work items for the old system. I must be 100% dedicated to this new golden turd that I have been working on. Lo and behold a catalog needs updated. I tell my buddy Paul that he needs to do it since I am no longer allowed to do it. He talks with Jefe. He then comes BACK to me and explains I am "off the hook" and will have a meeting next week with our outsourcing folk for a "knowledge transfer" on how to import a catalog.

I laughed and cried for different reasons.

They will fail. They will squwak that the data isn't right. They will pester me for months on why it's not right. Oh lord. What has Jefe doomed me to?
