The bad news - I need to stop reading the internet so much.
The good news... my current employer feels quite favorable about keeping me.
The bad news... I have had a lot of free time at work to catch up on UI, UX, and other programing tidbits
The good news I am going to be embroiled in this conversion and will get to flex my webpage design skills.

Kudos to me though it is always awkward hearing my boss tell me he notices my web surfing is high and reminds me that it should be minimal when I have work to do. A bit iffy on the subtext outside of "this is the time to prove yourself" sort of thing or "the big-boss is catching notice too so knock it off block head"... I haven't gotten a good bead on my boss. This keeps things interesting.

Oh and my idea of an augmented reality app or smart phone app was received in an okay fashion. The roadblocks of 'no one here has the tech skills to do it' was countered with 'if you are looking into it at home keep us posted and we will see about maybe doing it later when we find people to do the UI'... which they don't know will be me. Man I wish I had a droid.
