21/06: Oh someone is going to be pissed...
Fun fact - I took off last Friday. Oddly Mark took off the same day (to watch soccer).
We left the reins of the project in the capable hands of Sticks - a senior developer. The whole week was quiet of production problems and testing issues so what could go wrong?
From what I gather - somewhere about 2.30pm on Friday he went MIA. Some esoteric production problem came in about 4.16pm.. no one was here to deal with it except BJ (exteam member).
BJ narrowed it down to what the problem is but was a bit too far removed from our project to know how to fix it. According to him Jefe left with the hopes that Mark or I would log in this weekend.. see the problem via the emails.. and fix it before Monday.
Here was my response to BJ's statement:
"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha" *sucking in my breath* "hahahahahahahaha" "haha" "HA"
Yeah.. I have finally broken myself from checking work emails when I am not at work (unless I am expecting something). I only had the mild urge once this last three day weekend of mine to do it and that was easily ignored. It's not like the compulsive issues I had a few months ago.
So here I am, waiting for Jefe to come ghosting by with one of a few reactions:
1. She will make some passive aggressive joke to Mark and I about being gone at the same time... I'll have to retort ".... but jefe, everything was left in the capable hands of Sticks!" to punctuate his inability to do more than breathe through his mouth.
2. She will attempt to make a tempest in a teacup over an isolate problem *one* project is having... and even at 4.30pm it's not like we were going to be able to move the code sans consultant approval (yeah.. that's a sickening thought).
3. She will bitch out Mark whom she will believe will bitch out me figuring that's how her world works, but that is sadly divorced viewpoint from how *our* world works. Around here is where she would be the victim and say how it makes *us* look bad when she really means her.
So threats, passive aggressive commentary, undirected anger, avoidance, and victimization. Which adventure shall you choose Jefe?
