Oh the days of getting towards the end of a project. Today's standup meeting was some up front, hard core, saber rattling... I want to say the drums of war were beating, but that would require your team to be rallied against another team or department. No.. this was just a point blank soap box by Jefe indicating three things:


1. Tension high in the office. Folks are angry. Fingers are staring to point. The blame game is cycling up like an F-16.
2. We must take care of own areas. Jefe does what she cant, but she cannot "protect us". Protect us from.. the Nothing? Only Atreyu and Bastian can do that. Maybe the 'Child like Princess'.
3. If jefe can slum it and pickup some of our work then that person becomes redundant. The irony is DK was dolling out work, assignments, advice, and other "managerial" tasks before and after this tirade.

Essentially we were informed that the testers are testy... other people are testy.. we cannot miss out deadline. If Jefe needs to step in and soil her hands then that person is gone. The blame game is also starting up from the other teams... specifically the testers. Jefe made it clear that if she gets blamed she will step aside and let the finger point at us peons. she also indicated that she might get 'mean' in the upcoming weeks. Great. Instead of being professional and self regulating she throws out this blanket statement and tells us to deal with it. Stellar skills.

what amuses me that this "animosity" is building, she pointed it out, and yet no one wants to sit everyone down to resolve it. I would but I have no authority to.

At this point I am giggly and in semi good spirits. This will be an amusing train wreck.
