12/08: Of many things..
I am sitting here sifting through lines and lines of SQL code... looking to optimize the bastards procedures with mild success. I am fairly certain I will be going to Candlebox Friday at the WhiskyRoad House.. again alone... but so far work looks promising in that I will be going and not worrying about this roll out to production. Yeppie.
More after the jump..
Jefe is still MIA. She's been gone since June 17th or so. Left for her usually month long trip back to her folks.. but there is rumor her madre is not doing so well and she has been delayed another month. Yikes! Dk is doing better and less grumpy. That's all good.
One more day and this project is officially "out"!
I have developed an progressively more unhealthy addiction to Fallout3. I mean Oblivion was bad where I was loping across the land killing shit and looting, but this game.. wow.. I get a great sense of wonder and fancy when I get to a building and go in. Is going into that building necessary for the game plot? Probably not, but exploring is so much fun. The small touches.. like this one tunnel I came across was sealed up by some guy who was trapping the hell out of it. Once I cleared the traps and got back to where he lived I found a charred skeleton on the floor, a burned table, dried blood, and a tipped chair. There were some notes on his computer giving him a bit of a back story. NIFTy!
There was a nice homage to Jim's parents' house in '28 Days Later'. A bloodly hand print on the door.. a mangled guy in the living room.. two skeletons on the bed up stairs with.
The small touches are great. I have been comparing notes with some of the guys at work. I guess I found a whole area they didn't know existed or over looked. Sweet.
Oh and if anyone's wondering GT is not working at the 'Box anymore. Sad. Travis was probably the most devastated.
*sigh* Back to code optimizing.
Oh and the wedding went great! A bit warm but people were telling me how succinct and descriptive it was (both at the same time). Good times. No more weddings on the horizon.
