13/03: A nice interruption..
Out of the blue I got a call from Falloutboy Monday. Well an exploratory text that I told him to hold off until 'Being Human' was over.
Side note 'Being Human' is like watching a torture sitcom. I half expect the characters to start trying to hunt down the writers and shred them for the weekly abuse and digging a deeper hole for them to be tossed in. I mean seriously.. these are decent enough folk but they can't seem to catch a break. Viruses, being a werewolf, not being a werewolf, re-wolfing, loved ones dying.. broken relationships.. etc. Small bits of joy brought to a shambling mess of bruises, busted lips, blood, and tears. Each week I hold a small candle of hope they will survive (or just die quickly), and yet I am horrified at what unexpected events befall them.
As it is Falloutboy and I catch up (after the show).. he finally is off the consultant 'bench' and in the real work force.. making (probably) 90k in Dallas.. flies in Monday.. flies out Friday.. racking up some big ass rewards and shit.. he'll be doing this for about six months then off to elsewhere.
It sounds like he is doing well and maintaining the Falloutboy lifestyle of running, working, doing nothing, and saving for retirement like a mad man. I mean that mo-fo *SAVES*. All and all in a good spot for him to be him.
Though.. I was an ass and just ended the conversation with "I need to go get a drink.. let's talk in a few weeks". Hopefully he got a laugh out of that.
