23/05: Another late night/early morning...
Monday - it was Lawyer's choice and we decided to head down to the Benson area... I smell him trying to nest here and fully expect to be pressured into flipping my apartment to one down there as a matter of convenience. I was not feeling the hottest, but made a go at it. Dinner was.. meh.. okay. The fried pig ears where good, but the textured ear jello-ten and some of the spices were not helping my constitution. I soldiered on and began to layer on various beers hoping that might tamper down the rumbling.. though this might just have been a panic attack brought on by my car dropping all the windshield wiper fluid..
while sitting in park..
in a drive way..
and being left to sit for half an hour..
coupled with my lack of sleep from the previous night... so no.. it wasn't the location or company just a confluence other things that made me seem surly (let's go with surlier than usual) and pensive.
More after the jump..
Either way food, beer, a wicked Transformers pinball score of 11.6 million... dirty hipster-goth people talking about 'The Buckle Game'... and then off for a cigar and some more suitable location.. a good time as I was sort of tuned in and dropped out.
The morning came quite quick but I headed off to work with the hopes of that night just sleeping a long time.. Ha.. no.. Laura hits me up that Margie's in town and that I was required to not skip Tuesday night karaoke. Well I can't possibly miss the personal invite from Laura NOR miss this random evening with the Margie.. thus I had to reconfigure my evening. 1. Survive work. 2. Get the new Garbage Cd.. 3. Scrubway for dinner.. 4. Nap.. 5. Hit the streets.
Work is trying its best to throw me through the wringer.. Inconsistent catastrophic bug kept me later and required me to try and make a coherent and sane sounding email to higher upity ups.. then the plan started to work.. in and out of best buy in about five minutes.. (yes I had to get the deluxe version with the four extra songs)..
which..
appears..
to be available on amazon for download. Damn it.. usually those extra songs are not allowed for instant purchase.
What ever.. cd, new remote, and scrubway in hand I bust into my joint.. I spend an infuriating amount of time trying to input a code into the remote to make the damn channels change. Oh.. if I cared to read the next section over it explains the channel changing bit is disabled out of the box. Fuckers.
That fixed.. and nap time..
I groggily woke up from my 45 minute power nap to shuffle around and get out the door.
The evening was festive.. many songs sung. I may have over stepped my bounds when I arbitrarily grabbed the playsport to snag some of the songs.. oh well.. fuck me for being nosy.
Margie seems to be doing well.. digging her job.. she works too much (shocker)... and is kicking butt as a boss of minions.
The phrase of the evening was "so and so requested you sing this song so you must!" and thusly I was goaded into coming out of retirement to sing/speak 'Asshole'.
A few beers later and now it's 1am.. ugh. I bid my adieu and hit home.
Oh did I not mention the completely shit faced weitz guy trying to stand up and hit on all the ladies while having issues with keeping his shirt on. Oh the humor.
Either way I am not up.. on another evening of minimal sleep.. and still trying stop hemorrhage money with my evenings.. but damn you spirit of Party Pat!
Bah.. who am I kidding it's been highly entertaining and well worth the entry fee on the last few nights! Viva la Beercade!
