2013.03.28 (15:06): Take it or leave it..

I decide to skip out at work and try Wohlner's for lunch. Meh.. the ruben was good, but over all I am not sure what everyone is getting all up in a fuss about.

2013.03.21 (13:37): It was a fun thought..

It was fun fantasizing trunkclub would work out for me... sadly that is not the case. My style consultant called me and was a bit perplexed as to my lack of details on the initial survey.. so I laid out my general size and mentioned it was out of the given directives.. she affirmed I was outside of their range and maybe in a year or two they may expand. I am more than welcome to fly to Chi-town (twice) for measurements and get custom wool stuff.. but that is more than likely not to happen.

*sigh*

It was a good thought at the time.

2013.03.20 (20:28): Spin the wheel...

Cool Materials just sent me a link to http://www.trunkclub.com/.. shit.. solid looking clothes that someone with style picks out? Sure! Let's spin the wheel and see how this goes...

Okay.. a series of pictures on my style and look.. not bad.. woah.. woah.. "Where do you typically shop?" does not show 'casual male'... or any where big and tall. Fuck.. okay.. let's push "I don't show at any of these stores"...

Ah.. the dreaded drop downs.. great..

Height.. stops at 6'4 and then goes to "other".
Weight.. stops at 240 and goes to "other".
Waist.. stops at 40 and goes to "other".
Shoe size... stops at 14 and goes to "other".
Casual shirt size... stops at xxl and goes to "other".

Well fuck. My personal stylist Sailu is going to be in a run for the money if and when she actually contacts me.

It would be pretty fly if this can even partially pan out.

I just was given a lunch invite with my bosses for Wednesday... Innoculous enough, right? Why the hell is my first thought "well shit.. am I getting fired?!"? ugh.. must unwind the cynicism wrapped in pessimism intwined with realism, and topped with a negative nancy bow.

2013.03.16 (07:14): What is this.. hellish time?

I was up at 6.45.. AM. I haven't been up at that time on a *work day* let alone a Saturday in ages. Fuuuuuuck.. This 'nebraska code camp' conference thing better be worth it. Next stop - Lincoln!

The Nebraska QB as an app out..

Speeding through creases in a defense isn't enough for Taylor Martinez. He needs speedy bandwidth, too. And numbers. And puzzles.

On the low-key nights in Lincoln, and there are many, the Nebraska quarterback might mess with the stock market or create iPhone apps.

His latest concoction is a free app called Follow the Pattern,”which he describes as a board game on your phone for competing against friends. The game slightly resembles the Simon” board game with blocks colored red, green, yellow and blue.

He used to sell his game for 99 cents, but it's currently free while he tweaks it.

“I like to work out puzzles in my head,” said Martinez, who declined comment on how much money he has made off apps. “There's not much to do in Nebraska, so you just start thinking of ways to make money.”

Shit.. I think I may have over shot my ability to cram work in today. Hopefully I can jam through a chunk of it while 'Live Through This' cranks.... and no one disturbs me.

I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams... crap.. wrong faux life.

2013.03.13 (11:22): A nice interruption..

Out of the blue I got a call from Falloutboy Monday. Well an exploratory text that I told him to hold off until 'Being Human' was over.

Side note 'Being Human' is like watching a torture sitcom. I half expect the characters to start trying to hunt down the writers and shred them for the weekly abuse and digging a deeper hole for them to be tossed in. I mean seriously.. these are decent enough folk but they can't seem to catch a break. Viruses, being a werewolf, not being a werewolf, re-wolfing, loved ones dying.. broken relationships.. etc. Small bits of joy brought to a shambling mess of bruises, busted lips, blood, and tears. Each week I hold a small candle of hope they will survive (or just die quickly), and yet I am horrified at what unexpected events befall them.

As it is Falloutboy and I catch up (after the show).. he finally is off the consultant 'bench' and in the real work force.. making (probably) 90k in Dallas.. flies in Monday.. flies out Friday.. racking up some big ass rewards and shit.. he'll be doing this for about six months then off to elsewhere.

It sounds like he is doing well and maintaining the Falloutboy lifestyle of running, working, doing nothing, and saving for retirement like a mad man. I mean that mo-fo *SAVES*. All and all in a good spot for him to be him.

Though.. I was an ass and just ended the conversation with "I need to go get a drink.. let's talk in a few weeks". Hopefully he got a laugh out of that.

A solid night for myself.. I found out I had the wires crossed on my Fez Panda II and my usb cable.. I decided to celebrate with Archer and some drinks (instead of the gym). I hit the 'Box and what do I hear from Woody? Yeah, his father passed away the prior Saturday from a series of strokes of unknown origin.

Fuck.

Really? Here I was prattling on about my achievement over the dreaded Fez Panda II, and all the while this guy.. this buddy.. has lost his dad.

Fuck me.

Woody recanted the whole tale and I felt worse each part of the story that went on. I flipped a mental coin to know if I wanted to tell him that - while his shit sucked here's my corollary of suckitude... some times the coin flip won.. sometimes it lost.

What an ass I made. The ass'ining lessened with more alcohol, but really?

Fuck.

2013.03.07 (14:15): Place; I am put in it.

There's been scuttlebutt floating around work about a gang of people from the department going into 'The Warrior Dash' in June. People starting up all sorts of diets, training, and fighting for gym time while at work. My coworker was just asked if he wanted to join, but (totes oddly) I wasn't.

Ah.. that's right. Best not have the fat kid scramble for an excuse.

Though, lest someone thinks I have hurt feelings, I don't. I was just giggling to myself for a few minutes before I wrote this.

Q: How do you know you are still fat?
A: Your coworkers don't want to associate with you on the Warrior Dash!

All joking aside, I think I am out of town for a wedding that week'n. Minneapolis or bust I do believe.

2013.03.05 (10:03): What is going on here?

I have installed many a motherboard in my life, and I can truthfully say I have never, at any time, ever made as many sound effects as this dell tech a cube over is making. Grunting like he is Sisyphus rolling a rock up a hill... groaning like a power lifter.. and a myriad of odd coughs, squeals, and squeaks.

He very well may be slaying a demon over there. I am afraid to look.

2013.03.03 (13:16): Wow!

One simple tweet at the omaha game dev group's twitter account to express my joy for their speaker this month (and that I'll actually try and get there even though it is during Nebraska Code Camp's weekend) and my twitter followers jumped from four to eight! A venerable explosion of followers!

Now if I only had a smart phone to tweet every thirty minutes it might be worth them to follow me.
