Link: Binary Diffusion

The following is a post from Frank X. Shaw, Corporate Vice President of Corporate Communications at Microsoft.

The digital world is binary. It’s a zero or a one, the switch is on or it’s off.

There are times when I think the industry dialogue is deeply influenced by this binary nature, and sometimes can be overly black and white
...
But that view alone only represents one part of the picture. It isn’t black and white. There are more elements to the story of where Microsoft is today. What many are underestimating is the evolution of Microsoft to a devices and services company. This hasn’t happened overnight. It’s a strategic shift and a creative process that’s been underway for a number of years, and becoming more evident each day,

Oddly I needed to use the term 'awkward Brazilian moments' to shore up a double-entendre joke... and then, out of the blue, mah brainz says "I bet that's not a secured domain name." and I yell "nuh-uh!".

Shockingly 'awkwardbrazilianmoments.com' is still open. I sort of secretly want to snatch it up and .. do.. I don't know what with it.

Half an inch of snow and ice and my commute is an hour and fifteen minutes. *sigh* Okay.. okay.. this can't be that bad, but no. Actors from humanity find a way to make me loath them.

1. The idiot girl who made a right hand turn in front of a van making the same right hand turn nearly causing a wreck. Let me clarify... in an exit from a neighborhood there was a van making a right hand turn onto 156th. The girl in question was to the left of the van either trying to jet across 156th or make a left hand turn. In a fit of cunning she, the girl, decided to turn right at the same time the van was turning right. The twat girl jets into oncoming traffic and is now ahead of the van. Ugh.
2. The twat faced hag wrapped in some god awful fur coat tooling around in her fiat 500 that looked to be diving at every slick patch in front me...
3. The jackass in the early 90's cutlass who decreed today to be "make your own f'n lane even though the lanes are plowed" and decided to straddle the line on two lanes...
4. The school bus that was dumping the entire contents of it's oil pan out the exhaust thus making a wonderful smoke screen for a block.

I am slightly cold... and numb. The two hour series finale of Fringe was a roller coaster of amazing, of chasing, and of goodbyes. I am not certain how I over all feel, but I am exhausted. Five years and five seasons of one hell of a show.

Sure at the start all I thought was "scoobie doo meets xfiles", but after a few episodes the arch took off and I would have never told you this ending was expected.

The science, the mysteries, stellar parallel dimensions, and amazing acting. Bravo to John Noble for such a range of dottering old man to embittered and cold Walternate.

Tonight we saw a culmination of past Fringe cases being used not against us but for us. I start to wonder if the original twelve observers were not testing on us but arming us.

This and the shifting importance of 'the boy' - a warning of not Peter but of Michael. Michael.. oh Michael.. a not so subtle biblical reference, but it worked well.

As it was Walter appeared to be the Omega of all things, but now I doubt if he was the alpha. Sure snatching up the Peter from over there perpetrated the cascading fringe events that led to both sides to meeting, but were not those caused by the Observers? Well.. event wise I guess that maybe true, but Walter pulling Peter over to this side sparked the feelings that changed September and brought about this conclusion. So okay.. I talked myself out of it - Walter's love for his son was the alpha and the omega of this entire series..

.. and the ending a simple replay of Olivia, Peter, and Etta in the field.. a scene shown over and over again, but this time Etta completes the run (instead of getting lost in the observer invasion) to Peter and they twirl in the field. Thus it appears Walter and Michael completed their part in the future.

A small bit afterwards shows the missing white tulip drawing is mailed to Peter, from Walter, but it is unclear if Peter is cognizant of the future years of toil spent from the observer invasion to the end... and now I wonder about odd small events in my world and wonder if they are anachronistic left overs.

It's been an hour of puzzling over this and review old episode plots. I think it is time to put this aside and go to the gym.

So long Fringe and thank for all the fish!

After the disappointment of Lori-lou getting married in Vegas - thus casting a pall over my sustained record of officiating one wedding a year I think.. I think my brother in law's cousin is going let me rock his.. back at the castle full of unicorns. We'll see tomorrow.

I just spent a better part of my afternoon sketching various members of the Herculoids. I think I can get the copious amounts of black space for Igoo without looking too much like crap.. Tara, Dormo, and Zartan are actually a larger bitch to do in a cheap ass black pen.

On the positive side I think the rest of my department checked out and are quietly napping at their desks.. Heh.

Finally.. after a day of annoyance, a suitifed, a shower, multiple peroxide drops, and two bowls of warm water I have my fucking stereo hearing back. Thank god.. now I can watch my Buckwild like a normal human being.

After a whole day of trying to pop my jaw, holding my nose and trying to over inflate my eustachian tubes, and chewing gum like a horse shit is better but not even remotely good. Hopefully this is build up on the outside or I have a long night of steaming bowls and shooting warmish water into my hear..

Mood: highly f'n annoyed.

2013.01.10 (10:15): Serially - what the hell?

I wake up and my left ear is all clogged up.. I thought maybe my student loans jammed an ice pick in my ear before it left, but no.. I can still hear but damn if it's not too f'n clogged up to hear right. ugh.

Why?!

Time to go hunt down that little ear suction/bulb thing when I get home.. this is going to be a fucking rough day.

Let's hope it's one of those days no one actually wants to talk - just to email.

2013.01.09 (22:43): Wow.. The Plan.. it works.

After a few years of enacting The Plan shit seems to be working. A year ago I was out from under credit card debit, and only had student loans.. now I am out from student loans and only have a car payment.. holy shit.. it's like a miracle this is getting done.. but I guess grinding it out is solid..

As for this year.. resolutions and such...
- ramp up to three times a week at the gym, rotate exercises, and maybe think about getting down low enough to maybe enjoy a half marathon or something
- flip my page over to drupal or wordpress
- get some more drawing done.
- Secret Project: Stamp Inspektor
- maybe actually do some real painting again
- hexapod robot?

2013.01.03 (16:00): Overly stimulated...

After a rock solid evening of hanging out with my Doctor and Lawyer, some bitch'n sleep, and a good day of solving work problems I find myself giddy that, in less than five and a half hours, Harto was able to get her goal of $50k.. and I helped... and giggled.. thinking how damn amusing it would be if I had to clean up my joint so she could swoop in, film 'my drunk kitchen', make a mess, and bounce. I mean shit I may have to just throw everything into a storage unit and throw away my clothes... or something. Hell..

Either way - the power of Harto's fans - clearing 10k an hour for her road trip. *squee!*

Side side note - It took me about ten minutes to mentally backtrack where I picked up a candy cane at today... I mean seriously.. here I am just tip-tapping away and I notice there's a candy cane in my mouth.

IN!
MY!
MOUTH!

Stupid holiday season where it is socially acceptable to swipe unknown candy canes. Ugh.

I am stoked for the gym tonight.. it's been a shitty week or so off so time to rock this like a hurricane.
