Fedex decided to stop toying with me and got my parts delivered with enough time to get them installed (instead of waiting for another three days). w00t.

2010.03.29 (10:15): Damn you shipping!

I turned up at the automechanics today to get the EGR work done on Bubbi... oh noes.. only one of the three parts are in. Did I take a day off work for... nothing? Hopefully they will call me when they got all the parts at the dealer...

2010.03.24 (15:17): Damn you EGR system!

Yeah.. parts will be in Friday.. the work Monday.. and it's to the tune of seven benjamins... though this should clear up a host of other minor issues winter has poxed Bubbie with. I really didnt need money anyways... So long tax refund I haven't gotten.. it was nice not knowing you this year either!

2010.03.24 (09:28): A day for a brisk walk..

The garage mechanics at work couldn't find an attachment to decypher Bubbi's 'check engine' code. *le sigh*. So off to the Jensen Auto by my joint. Sure.. it'll be forty-five bones to pull the code plus what to fix and any more diagnostic but it shall be dealt with. Let's hope the cost is low and the work is quality.

Twas a nice mile long walk back to my crib. Thankfully the rain didn't happen and I wasn't hit by any cars off Maple. Though I am low on provisions... two packs of Ramen and a can of soup. Shit... well JJ's delivers, right?

2010.03.17 (10:24): A nice quote...

People will dislike you for chasing childish dreams. After your success people will dislike you because they are ordinary and you are not.

This weekend was the lovely Nebraska Invite Tournament (NIT) for high school debate (and probably speechies but they don't count as people). I found the joint with five minutes to spare... and then proceeded to sit on my duff for two rounds (out of the four).

Mkay.

I got my reading done and started a new book. Not a terribly productive Saturday but some forward motion.

The first found I got to was a Millard South vs Millard West round.

Yesterday morning I noticed my front left tire was pretty damn flat.. I filled it up with air after mentoring and kept an eye on it. This morning it dropped from 40psi to 20. That's not good. So I skedaddled over to Jensen tire to have them take a look at it. Shame on me thinking this would be a short in and out process. Nope.. 8.15 to 11.30am.

Fucking other people with appointments and their car issues.

It turns out a pothole cracked the wall and thus required a new one. I also mentioned my backs were a bit low and the guy looked at me laughing and said "by low you mean damn near bald". Oh something like that. So there's going to be about four hundy. Yeppie.

Oh an unrelated note I think I worked myself into a mild panic attack yesterday after that stupid health screening. I was going the gym and felt like throwing up. About halfway through my routine I came to the conclusion that while the health screen was all doom and gloom it was just a snapshot of what's up. I had no particular expectations of passing with flying colors, but frankly if they would done this a year, three years, or five years ago it would have been worse. Progress has been made and odd metrics like using the same measurements from Gilligan's wedding four years later for my sisters help (that's where my pants had to come in greatly and my shoulders out about as much). I am getting there and I know I could do more here and there (Maybe I shouldn't drink so much... maybe I shouldn't *breathe* so much!).. but it's getting there.

Now back to the f'n grind at work.

2010.03.04 (16:53): F'n healthscreening..

Damn it all... Stupid health screening thing was annoying when it was happening, and I have done a good job of pushing it to the back part of my mind today.. but after a while it started eating at my fore thoughts and I found myself looking for cheapish in home treadmills or elliptical machines on craigslist.

Did I mention the nice lady informed me if I don't change my ways I will be dead by 39? Mountain Dew is the worsterest soda to drink.. and soda in general will cause pancreatic cancer? Yeah.. a totally upper.

Of course that lead me to people railing against said items.. then random surgeries and what not... and now a trainload of anger, annoyance, self loathing, and what ever other MTV-esque range of emotions are running around in my brain.

Cest la vie. I'll see what the "coaches" say.. and maybe rearrange my gym schedule...

I hate random frantic work phone calls that eat up two hours of my night.

I hate being in the right spot... twice... and having revelations being made on the second trip.

Seriously? Really? Part A: You have a freaking daughter. Don't label other women your daughter... I have some sort of moral code that requires me to balk at this comment and say "I know so and so's real daughter... well real not including that other family in the south east... you are not her.". It seems to cheapen the title.

Part B:... revelations that certain folk are drinking at my bar.. as day drinkers.. no one notifies me... and the reason said individual is is drinking at *my* bar is because they are hiding out from their usual haunt because the hubby was sleezing/sleeping with the liquor rep of the original joint... that could explain only two phone calls since before Thanksgiving of 2009. Grr.... FML.
