2010.06.24 (14:58): Hiring what?
The word is 150-200 SAP contractors are being rounded up and will be shipped down to some secure facility in a few months.. eh.. what? That's would almost triple our size based on existing employees for the department... so it seems we won't be getting a raise next year either.
On the plus side I am now 100% vested in my 401k... w00t!

2010.06.21 (09:32): Oh someone is going to be pissed...
Fun fact - I took off last Friday. Oddly Mark took off the same day (to watch soccer).
We left the reins of the project in the capable hands of Sticks - a senior developer. The whole week was quiet of production problems and testing issues so what could go wrong?
From what I gather - somewhere about 2.30pm on Friday he went MIA. Some esoteric production problem came in about 4.16pm.. no one was here to deal with it except BJ (exteam member).

2010.06.10 (23:47): New game..
It's 11.45pm.. I've been on this phone call since 9.30pm.. I left work at 7pm.. I am fucking tired of this. My glimmer of hope for hitting the bar before close with a happy move was dashed to pieces with the announcement TeamfoundationServer is down.
I knew them putting me on mute was a bad thing. They must have been shitting themselves.
I think the CIO Rich just checked in. Pena did.. he sounded angry.
My new game is to see how many of the fourteen miller lights I can drink before I am needed to verify anything... and when I am required to verify how drunk I will be.
There's always that captain and bottle of coke I have.. this could be amusing. I might turn off mute and become belligerent. The night is young.

2010.06.02 (16:01): Lying - the nature of my job...
I came to the conclusion last night I spend a significant portion of my work day lying and telling partial truths - all as a function of my job. People in the field ask why something isn't working or what we have done. They are not looking for a technical answer or even an answer that attempts to explain what's wrong (that would take too long don'tcha know!).
