Well it's another Friday and I am here at 6pm. My sorta new boss's boss - FP - was leaving as I was taking a walk outside to clear my head. Two stupidly complex issues were attacking two different projects. Grr.. The look of concern from FP when he asked "You are doing this alone?" was touching. I don't think Jefe ever got around to asking those sorts of questions in the last four or five years.

Damn Jefe.. that email you sent out is fairly insulting in tone and content.

Yes, it's been mentioned a few times in the reply chain.. there already is two work requests.

Zing. I guess we are in a cranky mood! This only flies in the face of a lot of history built up that teams are in charge of their systems and if we need to change them we ask them to do it... since they have the knowledge, the skills, and if we make a change that fucks something up they would tend to catch that.

Anyways I wanted someone to follow up with team to get that work done but nothing happened with it. Not sure even that information got communicated or not. Talk to and get this added ASAP.]
This is the first time I heard anything about it. Yes it's frustrating, but coming off snippity, short, and generally parental tone isn't helping. We are in flux... we are reorging.. we are doing the best of a shitty situation, but that hardly gives you carte blanche to demand more and more irrational things.

I really wonder what's going on from her point of view. Is she getting teased by other managers because her project sucked from the get go? She has a terrible time sticking up for herself (or her team), but this sort of turn around wrath is not fair. Hopefully DK will have some answers and this can be treated like the tempest in a teapot that I perceive it as.

Jefe you did us no favors with requirements, set documentation, or keeping a solid line for the project. Somewhere about halfway through you began to disassociate yourself with the project and DK took over. Now DK is disassociating himself with the project and I (and ) are taking over. I can't go back and set right shit that was perpetually wrong from two and a half years ago.

We all are, but frankly what work requests are we talking about? The masks one? Something else we are not seeing? What? Communicate!

DK's been on a roll recently. After pestering falloutboy pretty bad this week, today's standup almost ended with a fist fight. Falloutboy was asking about if we have an audit table to track who did what change because a support guy was asking for a report on who was making changes to a cost code. No biggie. DK mentioned there was an audit report, and Falloutboy countered with he will check to make sure it's the right data. DK jumped in and aggressively explained that "No.. we don't do that". Falloutboy' was to tell the support guy where to find the report and let him determine if it's the right data or not.. and if not come back to us for more help. We have been coddling the support group too long and enabling them to not know the system. Wow... so we are super "tough love" mode. Needless to say the look on FOB's face (and his balled up mits) indicated he might lunge and take a swing at him. Wonderful.

On other notes I love my prismacolor markers and will have to expand my color range.

Additionally I saw a place (off deals.woot.com) that was selling newly manufactured Romanian AK-47s for $299.00. That's a freaking deal. If I play it right I could get 1000 rounds / box of ammo for about $200. Hmmmmmm.. future investment?

Oh, and random post thought - my package for "Urth" facewash and scrub is heading across the country as I type this. My sisters think I could totally do better at maintaining a healthy complexion (damn christmas gifts I am obligated to use), and as such I have taken steps forward to get some good shit for it. We shall see how this works out. Thankfully I don't have any gin blossoms yet since I am not an ardent gin drinker. Though I might switch up my drink of choice to gin and tonics. Fancy that.

Oh and I think i was quasi promoted yesterday.. Me and Markie-Mark are in charge of CB now... and there was mention of my future roll as "senior developer, team lead, or what ever" by DK.. then Jefe mentioned if CB is still as fucked up two months from now as it is now we are all going to be canned. Interesting.

DK informed Mark and I we were needed in Jefe's office right after the standup. As usual Jefe has people in there... a little apprehensive on what is going on with these clandestine meetings. Firing? Promotion? Raise?
