Oh legal lunch was interesting today. It seems a farewell party for a coworker was ending as I was entering... Brent was looking awfully forlorn about not getting an invite for my legal council... and I had a nice lunch on MyBiggestFan's bill. Good company.. good times... good end of the year lunch time.

Work was less suckie than usual but that was probably because DK was gone.

Real World DC - you look promising. I only though ra-tards from Central debate team fell off the sides of steps to break their jaw. Apparently not so much. Crazy fights are in the making. A highly watchable season.

Classic birthday fashion.. family and friends sans those not exiting bodily fluids from two or more orifices.

I guess they call it the 'golden bday' when your age and your day line up. Interesting. It's funny to see some people get worked up over their date of births while I am apprehensive and distracted by all the other crap rolling around me. Pops and his new job.. getting him to work for a while until he gets his driving legs back... work and this whole shift at work while trying to fix the crap rolling around in the new system. Grr... and the usual New Years unknown plans... the general disdain for the month and a half holiday season... It wears a man down.

So it goes.

On a brighter note I am down one of five cds of Hunter S Thompson's audio logs. Good shit. Damn Hells Angels are crazy folk.

I should peruse back to last year and see what New Years resolutions I failed to achieve. Yeppie!

I survived with minimal damage to my braincells, fingers, or toes.

I should go buy a shovel.. but meh. Next storm! Stupid three foot drift on my front door.

Semi stoked that I got the last of my William GIbson novels.. that would be author #2 I have read all their works. Such the dork.

Saturday was an okay day.. well that was it started fine. I was out and about happily sniping parking spots in a fashion that reminded me of my college days... spending a boat load of cash, and tooling around. Yup.. almost everyone's done! Then.. oh then I stopped for a drink with my buddy and his dad.

I swung by and was met with a chilly shoulder form his dad.. mkay.. what ever. I knew the bartender and chatted with her having a few 100 proof Captain cocktails and was seeing if my buddy was going to show up. Eventually he does and I while away about three hours. No problem. I head back out to get some shopping done (comic book catch up), and the plan was to hang with him.

Well he waffled on the issue an hour later then declined. It wasn't until a post on facebook about 'tonight being the night' I was alarmed and phoned over there. A mutual friend answered and only said "get over here now"... So over there I go to find more knife play.. blood.. the general crazy behavior (sans extreme temperature and single song on repeat).

After everything calmed down (and a few phone calls and texts from his family) this mutual friend and I shove off. It wasn't until outside in the cold I was informed my friend blames me for his hospital visit. Grr.. Figured.

Let's hope for a safe holiday!

Shucks.. she was cute as a bug's ear back in Clueless... the constant voice of Luanne Platter (King of the Hill).. the only thing that makes 8 Mile bearable.. and in Sin City.

I am off to do the christmas shopping I have been neglecting with work spilling over to the weekends.
Had my lunch? check.
Have my list? check.
Bubbie gassed up? check.
An account with just enough money? Ah.. check.

Thankfully most are giftcards and can be easily obtained through a quick in and out process. I might hit up some of the stores with my Zune Jane and earbuds. Make it like a movie... or like when I would wander around UNO campus listening to Bobby D on my discman.

Oh.. Avatar was good.. nothing ground breaking in terms of the script.. I thought it was very 'Dances with Wolves' meets the Smurfs.

For the last week and few days I have been pestering Jefe to approve my two vacation request. She's been dragging her feet, but verbally said yes. Good. I was planning on taking the day Pops goes in for surgery and the next day off regardless. DK sends me an email today indicating that I need to give him more notice. Ah... what? It was in queue for over seven days... Jefe was aware of it.. last time I checked she was still my immediate boss. Gr..

The interesting twist is DK and Jefe were off to Chicago yesterday afternoon for two days of training. There was zero word from either of them to the team they were planning on being gone. If it wasn't for overhearing conversations as I walked by I would never have known.
