2009.07.22 (15:06): Random things here and there
Did you hear that fanboy *squee!*? Two more evenings and I will be at Toad the Wet Sprocket. I am quite stoked.
I was promised tomorrow will be Legal Lunch. Perhaps we can find the waiter with sweaty palms again. Someone loves him.
Yeppie - an email about my high school reunion! This should be a fun event.
Work is chugging along nicely. DK has finally seemed to settle into a rut of annoyance and anger with certain team members (totally deserving), and the phrases of doom and gloom (24 hour support, late nights, weekends, "you can't leave at the end of the day if you have an active bug") continue - abet with each day a more glazed look in response.
I don't think I am allowed to go to Candlebox (the night before the move.. or is it the night after?). Bastards. Thankfully I didn't spend cash on the ticket.
I hear Our Lady Peace is coming to town with Reel BIg Fish and The English Beat. Blah..*puke*... gag.. RBF - I saw you once this year and I won't do it again. English Beat - I just skimmed youtube's videos and you are not that good. So no OLP for me.

As I sit here sifting through tables on one of the databases and out of the blue I wonder how that bald headed, older guy with thick glasses, partially handicapped, loved his giant ear muffs, and constantly hung out in the PKI computer lab is doing.
I guess the guy walking down the side walk reminded me of him.

2009.07.12 (02:39): Grr..
Damn videocard crapped on out me after I got home tonight. I turned on the PC and bam.. got a series of beeps, a sound load, but no video. Threw in the old card and lookie here - it works.
So a trip back to WorstBuy to exchange it.
In other news Arturo Gatti was found dead in a hotel room in Porto de Galihnas, Brazil on his second honey moon. Very sad. I am certain the Porto de Galihnas police are on top of finding who did this. pfffst..

What a day.
2009.07.06 (11:33): Ready, set, action!
I had a surreal cliched moment this morning. About 1.30am or so I hear my neighbor's bed upstairs start squeaking. I put down my book and stared at the ceiling. There were a handful of half starts and out of sync squeaks, but I giggled as I put up my hands in the first position for an orchestra conductor.
In my best impression of Michael J Fox's "Brantly" from "The Secret of my Success" I played out the scene and laughed some more. It was getting particularly vicious as the wood was being brought to bear (so to speak), and ended with a crescendo of bed on wall.
A bit of thumping in the bed room and the to the bathroom the night was still again.
I picked up my book and finished out the chapter.
As an aside, I'm really not into this book. William Gibson's "Spook Country" is kind of "meh".
