2008.12.31 (11:04): Legal Lunch yesterday!
My team of legal eagle experts (and one hyper active addition) had lunch with me for my birthday. It was an enjoyable experience (isn’t it always?) with only minor concerns that Mary has developed an almost unhealthy sounding obsession with some mafia game. Thirty some odd confirmed kills, giant guns, a growing "family", and bulking up on defensive points. Hmmm. On the other hand the game seems to help her take out the general anger and displeasure for humanity the law profession forces her to accrue.
Lunch was quaint with the usual bevy of information, and Mary snagging my meal for my birthday (thanks Mary!).
The general concern was Travis’s car needs to be watched while out of town and perhaps his dog too. Both were denied as attempts to thieve his Silver Bullet for reckless driving rampages. Good show ol’ boy.. good show.
Work news – nothing too report. We are treading water as DK is trying to fix this “dead lock” issue. We have “20 more days until full testing starts”… twenty from when? All I know is I have two work item (bugs) that are probably already fixed, but until we do a move (promised for two and a half weeks and it hasn’t happened yet!) I cannot be sure.
Dan the Merc is leaving. I am sad. He is head and shoulders above the other mercs. Perhaps we should chain him to his desk? I am sure his wife and the police would not come looking for him at his last known work location.
Happy new year everyone!

2008.12.24 (08:43): Mercs and magic..
I drag my ass to work today... we have a half day and for some reason I am required to drive down town when I could have easily rolled my ass out of bed, shuffled four feet, and worked from home in my undies. *sigh* So much for quasi non traditional work attire.
I get to work, narrowly get hit by some moron running lights like it's still slick outside, and wonder if my beef jerky and soda will fit for Christmas Eve breakfast or do I need something more meaningful?
I continue to hum The Flys' "Got you where I want you" into my office when I notice an email from our mercs (over seas mercs - not to be confused with mercs ten feet away from me). It's a holiday card. Wonderful. I open it up and this is the message "May the magic of the season cast a charm of joy... on your life!". Here would be the series of reactions:
1. Wow.. really? Magic and christmas?
2. Magic is a douchebag game.
3. I may be a bit rusty on my d&d lore, but the charm spell doesn't cause joy - it causes things to like you.
Arg.
On a irrelevant note my secret santa gift has not arrived in the mail yet from one of my forums. If I get stiffed on this one then I will be sorely pissed.

2008.12.09 (09:30): Nope - the storm went ten miles north!
Falloutboy's prediction was a bust as far as repremands and what not. That's good. I guess we have a move happening "right now"... thought I doubt it.
*shrug* off to do more testing!

2008.12.09 (09:16): Storm predicted?
We have (by we I mean DK and Jefe) have been planning a code move to the test server for about three weeks now. By plan I mean they were telling us, about once every two days, that today was the move and it would happen at noon. Noon would come and go and no move occured. There wasn't an email, a stop by, or anything communicative. Nothing.
Let's follow the journay after the link.

2008.12.02 (20:56): A good day..
It seems that today I did good. I know that because neither Jefe or DK came in to doll out negative reinforcement. I got a butt load of work done, spent about ten and a half hours at work, and have only minor clean up tomorrow. Yeppie.
